Device Portal
The Device Portal provides remote monitoring, fleet visibility, and secure update management for instruments in the field. It is a cloud-hosted web application for pushing software updates, monitoring instrument health, and pulling usage and diagnostic reports, so routine field work no longer means sending someone on site. It is multi-tenant, with users and instruments organized per customer.
Talk to us about Device PortalManage a fleet without a truck roll
Once instruments are in the field, keeping them current and healthy usually means sending someone on site. The Device Portal replaces that with a web browser: monitor instrument health, push software and data, and pull the reports you need across a single instrument or an entire organization.
Built for a connected fleet
The Portal is multi-tenant and cloud-hosted, so each customer sees only its own organizations, users, and instruments. It tracks installed software versions, pushes new versions and data, and gathers usage and diagnostic reporting, the operational backbone for a deployed product line.
Security is part of the design
A portal that manages instruments over the internet is a connected medical device, with the obligations that come with one. It is built to current cybersecurity expectations, and where a device needs the full treatment, threat model, SBOM, Section 524B, that work has its own home in our cybersecurity for connected diagnostics.

- What does the Device Portal let me do?
- Manage a deployed fleet of instruments from a web browser, monitor instrument health, push software updates and data such as protocols and assays, and pull usage and diagnostic reports for a single instrument or a whole organization. It removes the need to send field-service staff for routine tasks.
- How is it deployed?
- As a multi-tenant, cloud-hosted application by default, with per-customer organizations, users, and instrument assignments. Other configurations are possible depending on your requirements.
- How is a connected fleet kept secure?
- Managing instruments over the internet is a cyber-device problem, and we treat it as one. The Portal is built to current medical device cybersecurity expectations, and the deeper work, threat modeling, SBOM, and FDA Section 524B obligations, is covered by our [cybersecurity services](/cybersecurity).
- Can it push assays and protocols, not just software?
- Yes. Alongside software versions, the Portal can push protocols, assays, and other data to instruments, and track exactly which versions are running where.
